Victoria Capranica completed her undergraduate degree from Kent State University’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) and has obtained her Masters of Architecture Degree in August of 2011. During her third year of undergraduate studies she studied abroad in Italy. Throughout her semester abroad, she lived in Florence, and traveled around Italy and other parts of Europe. That experience gained insights to different types of architecture. She was also able to do some traveling during her graduate studies to Dubai, UAE. This was a trip dedicated to participating in Sustainability Seminars at different universities, where students presented their spring semester projects.

A major accomplishment in Victoria’s graduate studies was entering the winning design for the Matrix Design Competition (MATTr). Victoria designed a tunnel like structure, and with the help of her colleagues, it was constructed over a sidewalk outside Taylor Hall at Kent State University. Also during her graduate studies, Victoria participated in the Second Annual Kent State University International Symposium on Sustainable Value Chain, publishing her paper “Use of Urban Agriculture to Revitalize Shrinking Cities: Case of Cleveland, OH”. Victoria is looking forward to starting her career towards becoming an architect.
